PM orders to mull exempting some service types from VAT

MOSCOW, May 29 (PRIME) -- Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered the Finance, Economic Development ministries and the Federal Tax Service on Monday to consider annulling value-added tax (VAT) for several industries in the service sector.

"Concerning the spread to other types of economic activities, in particular… hotels and fitness clubs, I think this is possible but needs careful consideration,” he said.

“I would ask the Finance, Economic Development ministries and the Federal Tax Service to consider such companies."

President Vladimir Putin signed in July 2021 a law exempting catering companies with revenue not exceeding 2 billion rubles per year from VAT from 2022.
